As the resident English teacher I will explain to you what pastiche is.

It's a genre, linked closely with parody and satire. It's a piece of work that imitates something else, typically in a cometic way. It can also combine multiple genres.

If anyone here has seen Titus (phenomenal movie, one of my favourite Shakesperean movie adaptations) I would say it is a good example.

The are still roman aspects in some costumes, but then the main characters show up on Harlies.

We saw a preview for the Sukiyaki Western, it made sense once they mentioned Tarantino. I'm pretty excited for it too. Sukiyaki itself could be considered a Japanese form of Spaghetti, just sort of a plain jane type of food that everyone eats growing up, very hearty, etc. The other thing I am excited about is to see the Japane/Asian interpretation of the classic Western. Typically they have a bit of a warped view. There are sort of big cowboy movements going on currently in other Asian countries (I want to say Thailand).

Pilar, if you are into this type of thing I highly recommend this book:

Absolutely fucking hilarious, fairly short, but amazingly rich. One of my favourite books I read for my undergrad.
