Tropic Thunder

So, I didn't see a post about this when it came out. I know a lot of people were pretty hyped about it.

I actually saw it twice and thought it was better the second time around. It was tremendously stupid, but managed to be pretty funny. I liken it to a much, much funnier Mars Attacks, in that it's so ridiculous and has a huge all-star cast behind it.

I've skimmed all the Tom Cruise parts since I heard his scenes were too funny to miss. Going to watch this tonight since my TV and internet are out till tomorrow.

Is Downey as good in it as people are saying?

Yes...he was probably my favorite part.

Downey and Cruise make the movie. They did amazing.

I wasn't really a fan of the other actors, but there are some good scenes with all of the characters.

Jack Black had it's moments too. But Ben Stiller was just...there for most of the movie.

Downey Jr. made the whole movie, he's fantastic.

Oh come on fest, the simple jack parts were hilarious.

While I don't think any roles besides Cruise and Downey were amazing, all of them each had their own parts that when combined made for some really funny scenes. Hell, even Matthew McConnaughayahajjahjhahjaha was funny in it I thought. I thought Danny McBride (the demolitions guy) was funny in it too and I liked him in Pineapple Express as well.

As much of a movie whore that Matthew McConaughey is, the Tivo crap was fucking funny.

It should be noted, Ben Stiller has had this movie in the woodworks for ~10+ years. Its one of the reasons there's so many big-names in it. Everyone wanted to be a part of it.

I'll have to say though my favorite role was Tom Cruise.
