.... Hurricanes... that rape your city... and take your interwebs, power, and water from you.
P.S. - All my friends and family are safe and unharmed.

I lived in New Orleans for 8 years - I moved up north like a year before Katrina and feel your pain. Glad to hear you fair'd well though.
We were actually on vacation down in south FL (keys) when Katrina came into the gulf and grazed* the keys.
I was like - I've seen worse... It Kills me to think of how shit went down after that.

Living in PR i had my fair share of hurricanes passin by...
When i was a kid i wanted them to pass so i can miss school for a week.. then it finally happen and i was without Power that whole week... Then i just hope for them to get close enough so they can call out a day or 2 from school and then move out of the way (We got some Forest on the East side of the Island that move hurricanes to the North $.
Last one the eye went trough my town, but it wasnt so bad.. I guess we are ready for them so its not nearly as bad as what happened to NO or Texas this year. Just being without Power and Water for a while, which is enough to piss me off as well.

Glad you and your family are safe and sound Sarum.
That is all that matters.
I have been through Hurricane Andrew and prior to that, the previous most devastating storm happened while I was being conceived. That was Betsy. So the big ones do not happen that often. I am really concerned though with South Florida if a big one does hit. If Andrew were to have hit 60 miles to the north, the damage would have been easily 10 times in value. People mocked me for having a house that was built CBS (concrete, brick and stone) I laughed at them when their wood house came down or was beat up by flying coconuts (which for those that do not know, do a shitload of damage when flying at your house at 100+ mph)
Hey Sarum glad to hear you are okay and safe.
If you ever need a place to crash (that's really far away). Boston is available.
I hate them too, they make my job a living hell. Stupid ass hurricanes making all the flights cancel. . .
