Off-topic news for once.

Diablo3 might be announced to the Games Convention in Leipzig (August 23-26). Why? Read below

You all remember how the website www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath went to Error 403 Forbidden 3-5 days before annoucement, the diablo3.eu (this url belongs to Blizzard Entertainment) is doing the same thing now, it used to just go to blizzard.com but now its pointing to Error 403 Forbidden (same as Wotlk page before BlizzCon).

Gamasutra reports that Frank Pearce of Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that the company is working hard on another new title... and it's not World of Warcraft or Starcraft II. 40 people are working on Starcraft II and 40 people are working on this secret Team 3 project, so it's definitely another big one. According to Pearce, "Team 3 is working on something really awesome. I can’t give you any hints, but it’s totally awesome."

We now have to wait for Games Convention to get a confirmation from Blizzard present at this gaming event (Hall 2 booth E12).

Like we did for BlizzCon, we will cover this event and publish all new infos about WoW (expansion, future patches).

No problem. I find your response to my question lackluster at best. Although this is probably due to how I phrased my initial question. I apologize, this time I will be more direct.

Do you think that the information provided in the original post is true or false?

If they are trying to steal Hellgate London's thunder, I don't think it is going to work. Anyway, all of the guys who made the Diablo series no longer even work for Blizzard, so what exactly are they trying to do? Not to mention, both Diablo and Hellgate are so similar in terms of concept that the games would practically overlap.

Dyermaker, would you be happy or sad if they made Diablo 3?

From the tone of your post it sounds like you would be sad but I thought I would ask just to be sure.

Diablo 3 will rival itself; Hellgate: London.

Edit: Dammit Dyer beat me to it.

First of all, allow me to thank you for the excellent response time. I find your speed and overall efficiency to be above exceptional.

At first look of this information, it appears to be legitimate. The source is good and the information seems to be presented in a way that appeals to the mass of gamers.

In the past, however, I have heard a lot of ill informed leaks about the possible release of Diablo 3. These previous disappoinments have led me to lose faith in rumors of Diablo 3.

In conclusion, although the information appears to be, and very well could be, legitimate and real, my past pains involved with false hopes of Diablo 3 will ultimately not allow my hopes to be raised.

Don't be Alexi's friend, you won't like what he does to his friends.

Hint: It involves him penetrating you. But if you're into that, go for it.

That only applies to my real life friends and people that I meet over the internet and eventually kidnap.

Tartarus would just be an internet friend.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Diablo2, in fact I recently got off another D2 binge with bigs, greta, bret, maen, seren, etc...but the fact remains that the guys who made it are now making Hellgate: London. As far as I'm concerned my loyalty lies with Hellgate here, because Hellgate practically IS Diablo 3.

I would much rather Blizzard take that extra team and devote it to making SC2 in a timely manner rather than trying to compete with Hellgate.

Do not be sad.

It is not that I do not want to penetrate you, it is that you probably live more than twenty miles from me.

Do you really think RTS games need that much attention?

Diablo 3 will do better solely because of its name. People who know nothing of what happened with the developers will flock to D3. And that is a lot of people.

Yes, yes they do need a lot of development time. Balancing an RTS, especially SC, is not fuckin easy. There's also the fact that SC2 is still in pre-alpha and Blizzard states that it won't be coming out "for a very long time", which probably means 2 years or more in Blizz speak.

Mirax

Blizz had better at least do something next year for the 10th anniversary of Starcraft.

Maybe it's just me, but what made Diablo and Diablo 2 great was the story... It was depressing and sad.. It cut itself..

The master crafter of Blizzard fiction is still at Blizzard(Chris Metzen), so, assuming they do go this route, the game will, as usual, kick ass...

It just seems that only so many people can program the same code.

Diablo 3, won't be out for at least a year imo.
