Black Jack Players

I hate the people who cry to me every time they are dealt a hand in Black Jack. The ones who start to complain as soon as their first card is dealt. "5?!?" "I never get a face card" "Dealer always gets face cards!" "I just want a pat hand" "I never get Black Jack!" And when they do get a black jack they say "Oh sure, now that I lowered my bet!" "Why aren't you smiling?" Why are you smiling?" Why can't these people realize that casinos were not built on winners. The casino is meant to be a form of entertainment, high priced entertainment. It's an adult arcade where sometimes, just sometimes someone goes home a winner. Please don't gamble your mortgage, car payment, tuition, etc and cry to me about it. I make under $5/hour. I'm sorry you lost, did you have fun? Tip me you cheap narcissistic bastards! Ok, I am done.

But if the second card is a 6, you gotta double down. You ALWAYS double down on 11.

Also, holy hell under 5$ an hour? Are you posting from Guatemala?

No, it's just what the casino pays the dealers. The rest comes from tips many players claim to not know about.

The worst are the superstitious/anal players who 1) don't like your vibe so they leave, 2) don't think you played that hand right (esp. if you are the last player before the dealer and they think you took the bust card or didn't take enough of the small cards), or 3) keep telling you how to play. F. them.

i usually play at 25 dollar tables, and when I hit a big hand i always tip the dealer. But i also usually pick up my chips on a dealer change. Call me superstitious.

Most definitely! Not only does it not hurt my body to deal this wonderful game but it is also NOT MY FAULT!! And if for some strange odd reason you want to blame me for something, then it is my fault and I can accept the blame ie flipped the dice to a 7, got in the way of the dice and got hit.. but it was probably the stick's fault for not calling that the dice were going out. But I am full pro at this game and never make mistakes :P

Truth, I always throw a few dollars at the dealers and let them play how they want. I love playing craps, so much more fun then any of the card games.

My point exactly! They just complain to hear themselves complain. At least let me deal you the 15 before you start with the crying!!! Give me 4 seconds of solace. Seriously my job is not hard labor, aside from the repetitive motions, but to be tethered to a table where people are constantly complaining or demeaning you for eight hours is mentally taxing. I hate Black Jack with a passion unless I get a rare table with people actually looking to have a good time but even then there is always that one loser at some point in the night.

I am the person at the table that everyone hates. I have my little routine where I never stand in the center of the table. I am always off to the side, near one of the chip guys. Why? I play the darkside. I learned a long time ago a simple rule about vegas. They have time and money on their side. They have more of both of those than you do. Therefore they will always win. I try and position myself as close to them as possible. I never play sucker bets either. You will not see me through any money down on someone rolling doubles

Hash - I am close to you. I either will play a hand for them during the game and when I am done leave hard currency behind for them or I will just leave the currency.

But . . . the truth is (well at least at the Mandalay) that all the tips are split amongst all the dealers. So if the dealer YOU like and you tip, well, that dealer does not get 100% of it.

NEM - half the fun is seeing if you can get a die to either take out chips and irk the dealers or hit good enough to bounce up and off the chest of the dealer. I would never admit to trying to do either of those on purpose

Where do I begin.. this is going to end poorly I am guessing based on some of your previous posts in other threads.. Here goes nothing.

Ok so you play the "Don'ts" and you stand next to the Dealer to be close to the "Don't Come" box.. all good. No one dislikes you unless you start cheering for 7's lol. You're just playing a different way. Where you have the odds against you on a come out roll and have to lay more to win less.. "Hop" bets keep the lights on and kudos for not playing them but hey miracles happen.

As much as I would love to keep my own "tokes" we also share them. So you are basically saying that rather than have your dealer share $10 with other dealers you would rather them have nothing at all? I also was a bartender where we pooled our tips.. as much as I hated splitting that $50 spot it sure was better than $0 in my pocket. I understand that you would prefer to give more to someone that deserves it but seriously ANYTHING is better than NOTHING and your logic is flawed.

I am failing to understand how hitting a dealer with sharp cubes at 10mph or greater is entertaining. They are sharp and they hurt jack ass! I have been hit in the face from point blank range by some moron standing next to me on stick as I collected the die. Also keeping track of 8 or more players multiple bets on a layout and having them destroyed by a rogue die is annoying as shit. How would you like it if one of those die hit your money and it "accidentally" got lost in my working stack? Because I promise you I can make that happen. My hands are fast and so is my mouth. I've been dealing dice for almost 10 years and my word is golden in the dice pit. But hey good luck and have fun making some dealer's life hell. Hope to see you soon in the Connecticut area

I enjoy blackjack, I don't play on the big boy tables, but when I play I do decent enough. I always tip the dealer...depends if I win a big hand, they get tipped...otherwise, I tip when I leave the table.

I would be very annoyed if people just sat there and complained the whole time, I would definitely like to punch them in the face.

The thought has often crossed my mind. It's sad that life is so short but on the days I have to deal Black Jack because my Dice game went down, I wish the hours of my life away..

The moral of the story is Casino Dealers are people too. Be gentle or one may go postal and punch you in the face!

Pssshhh... you aren't people!

You're like Zhaana only not german and not a healbot! You're an american made card thrower type person! Yeah that's it.

However I always tip my dealers, especially if I'm winning.

You fail. You guess very wrong.

Well actually, in a busy table, when people see money leaving them and the dealers collecting, then they see me getting money, they tend to get a tad irked. So that is why I stay where I stay. It does not make it look as if I am rubbing it in their face.

This is where you fail. All I stated was that the pool is shared, that it does not go to the crew, the dealer in front of you. How you spun that into the rest . . . well, that is your issue. A lot of people may not be aware that tips are shared. It may or may not be universal, thus the reason I mentioned Mandalay. Want to also point out that pit bosses are not part of the shared tips? At the Mandalay they are not. A good friend of mine's dad was a dealer at the Mandalay and took a pit boss position. Boy do I hear about the whining about the tips not being split.

I have yet to hit a dealer in the face. Not my goal. Mandating that the die must hit the back wall, that happens to NOT be flat on purpose dictates unpredictable bounces of the die. Will it take out bets? Sure! Will it bounce up and hit someone? Possibly. But leaving the roller all of 18 inches to place the dice after hitting the back wall from 12' away is asking for bets to get knocked over. All of my throws hit the back wall, if they bounce up from there, so be it. I have knocked over betters chips, I have knocked over the dealers chips, I have had bounces, again, coming off the back wall, that have hit the guy sitting down I have had them bounce up into people's chest. I have also had 99% of the them do nothing.

So the purpose of you sharing this knowledge that the dealers pool their tips to the uninformed is what? Deterrence? Or were you simply trying to encourage them to tip more so we have more to split between the lot of us? If the latter, kudos good sir.

There is only one Pit Boss in a Pit. Not everyone in a suit is a Pit Boss, they like being called Pit Bosses cause it gives them a 5s personal high but no dealer is going straight to Pit Boss in any casino. Your friends father is a Floor Supervisor or simply put Floor. When you go eat at a restaurant do the owners and managers share the waitstaffs tips? When you buy your coffee or your drink at the bar do they share their tips with the managers? Why should I? The casino pays me under $5/hour with shitty vacation pay at my base rate, on holidays I get time and a half on my base pay. As a Floor Supervisor or Pit Manager you get well over $20/hour and time and a half on that for holidays and your full pay for vacation. Suck it up, you do not deserve MY tips or my sympathy. I was a supervisor for 2 years.

Yes the back of the table is grooved like a crocodile's back.. to ensure a fair roll of the dice. But your goal as a shooter is to get the dice TO the back wall, not THRU the back wall. It's like feeding chickens. No need to wind up for a fast ball.
