On a serious note, the forums do have an ignore feature. I don't know how effective it is, but it's there.

I am not saying any of you are dumb, just can't believe people need apps like these because they can't wait to use a pc to reply to forum posts, they need to do it right away off their mobile.

By the way posting this off my IPod as my notebook is at home awaiting the arrival of a new 200GB SSD. Not using Tapatalk, I see no reason to pay $3.00 for something that I can already easily do on my IPod.

The quality of my life has decreased ever since I have been able to have instant access to maps, movie showtimes, my bank account, google search, restaurant finders, etc.

I have to agree with Phegus and Lornfang, but don't you just want to disconnect from everything sometimes?

I found I turn my phone completely off more now that I've got a smartphone so that I'm not tempted to keep randomly checking facebook or my email or something else all the time.

Unfortunately, I'm obligated to have it on all the time for work. There's several facets of my knowledge that nobody else really knows in the event there's a problem. So I'm more of less on call all the time.

For me, sorry, I gave up a cell phone. I found an interesting problem that I had. As soon as I got in the car and started to drive, by the time I got down the hill I was on the phone. I had not idea what the hell I needed to talk to anyone about, but it became a habit. I finally realized I was an idiot for doing it. So, I tried to go one month without doing it. After the one month, I realized I didn't need a cell phone. I didn't need to spend the ~600 a year to look cool.

Now if I had a compelling reason to be on call 7 x 24, sure, I would have one again.
